The Thiel Lab would not be able to conduct novel, groundbreaking research without the dedication and skills of its people. Dr. Thiel has mentored and advised over 30 student researchers including undergraduate students, Master’s students, Ph.D. students, medical students, and medical residents. The Thiel Lab is comprised largely of undergraduate volunteers and researchers, many hosted through the NYU Tandon School of Engineering’s Undergraduate Summer Research Program. These students learn about medical systems, hospital operations, and sustainability engineering by leading project-based research in sustainable healthcare.

Dr. Thiel has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a PhD from University of Pittsburgh. She is an Assistant Professor in the NYU Langone Health Department of Population Health.
